The City of Austin and TX DOT have approved the construction of three new fly overs. POISED FOR GROWTH

In January 2018 the City Council approved a resolution that directs the City staff to determine options for the former Home Depot site at St. John avenue and Interstate 35.  The city purchased the Home Depot 20+ acre site for $8.1 million in 2008. In 2013, the city bought the neighboring car dealership site for $2.9 million for future development.  

May 25th 2017, the Austin Humane Society purchased Victory Christian Center of Austin, located in the St. John community.  A portion of the property purchased consists of approx. 1.7 acres slated for future residential development  located at Bennet Ave and 183. Future residential development will only further strengthen St. John and continue community improvement within local economy, provide better quality of life, and building on local assets.
